The queen of reality TV, Lauren Conrad, is opening up about her decision to leave The Hills (the fifth and likely final season debuts March 30 on MTV).

Combined with two years of Laguna Beach before that, she’s had a heck of a run. But having turned 23 last month, LC is anxious to move on.

“You see us on the show and we appear to have seminormal lives, but if you read any celebrity news, the cast is being swarmed by paparazzi,” she says. “I’m excited to go back to having just one life. There were times that I got them confused.”

But the decision to leave is still bittersweet.

“I’ve spent the last five years making every decision be about the show. The people I date have to be able to film, the places I work have to let us film and the places I live have to have set lighting,” said the beautiful star.

“I loved doing it and had so much fun for the past couple of years, but it came to a point where I had done it long enough.”

Lauren Conrad has kept her growing relationship with My Boys’ Kyle Howard (above) off The Hills, which was a tall order. She says the balancing act is “very difficult, because when you’re with someone, they become a very big part of your life.”

She also admits it’s stressful being followed 24-7-365.

“There have been some scenes – extra scenes that may never come out – of me getting upset, taking my mic off and locking myself in my room,” she says. “There was a time I was really stressed, and would get sick a lot. I think all of Season Three!”

Producer Liz Gateley said they’re still figuring out how to give Lauren Conrad a big send-off – and how to potentially continue the show without her.

It looks like art is imitating life for Lauren Conrad.

The star of The Hills reveals on her MySpace blog that her new book, L.A. Candy – which is “loosely inspired” by her own experience – follows the story of 19-year-old girl named Jane Roberts “who moves to L.A. and unexpectedly becomes the star of a reality television show.” In the book Jane’s best friend is named Scarlett.

The novel, the first in a three-book series being published for young adults by HarperCollins, will be released June 16.

“Some of the characters may symbolize people in my life,” writes Conrad, who has gone through a multitude of drama on the MTV series, “but it is in no way calling anyone out.”

Adds the star, “I’ve always loved books that I could lose myself in, ones that would transport me to another place, but had characters I could relate to. So, I’m so excited to have this opportunity to write books like that for other readers.”

We’ve all seen it- there’s trouble brewing between Heidi and Spencer. When I watched the previews for the new season, I could definitely tell that something wasn’t right between them. I even heard Heidi say, “When we get back to L.A., I need you to move out… I’m not the one who wanted to see other people!”. Did Spencer cheat on Heidi? Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t…it remains to be seen…but personally, I think he did. What do you think?

They’ve been talking a lot about how Spencer’s cheating is hurting their relationship. When they talked to Us magazine, Heidi said that she and Spencer were having a lot of ups and downs, and that she’d never been cheated on before. Then she said, “Spencer and I may differ on what it means to cheat.” Here’s what Spencer had to say: “We’re definitely on a roller coaster. I’m not too happy about a lot of things.” Heidi’s also had a really hard time dealing with her stepbrother’s sudden death, in a freak accident. Both Heidi and Spencer are also talking a lot about what we’re going to see on the fifth season of the show. I can’t wait!

Heidi’s never been one to take life lying down. She’s using the publicity she gets from the show to help her in other parts of life, like designing those cute and oh-so-sexy clothes. (I wonder what LC has to say about that!) She’s also doing some acting- I thought she was really funny on How I Met Your Mother. After all, she’s in good company, because Britney, Mandy Moore, and (hot!) Heidi Klum have been on the show too. Heidi’s singing career is taking off too, slowly but surely. The critics, and a lot of listeners, didn’t like “Higher”. Heidi took it sort of personally, crying herself to sleep because of the reaction to the song. I really liked the song, thought it was catchy. Hopefully her next single will do a lot better.

LC’s saying that this is her last season, but Heidi and Spencer want to take it to at least ten seasons.

In Star magazine, they wrote that Spencer wants to end the marriage, and they claimed that Heidi and Spencer staged most of their fights for the benefit of the show. But, I think that Spencer really loves Heidi, even though their relationship isn’t the greatest right now. Are they just seeking attention, or trying to outdo LC? What I don’t understand is, if they never made the marriage legally binding, how can either one of them file for a divorce?

Heidi and Spencer really seem to be taking their fifteen minutes of fame, and getting all the mileage they can out of it. I wonder what they are going to do next?

After Audrina Patridge of “The Hills” fame had arrived home after the oscars she realized her
Los Angeles home got robbed.

“I had a really rough day today – I got home late last night and realized that my house had been robbed,” she wrote on her blog on Monday. “It was pretty devastating!”

“I spent most of the morning filling out police reports and going through the house room by room making lists of everything that had been taken,” she went on. “Most of the items are replaceable, but they took off with a few very sentimental things too. Definitely not a good way to start the week.”

According to her blog, Patridge says she is now “working with police to find the culprit” and plans to solve this case reality TV style by posting, what she says are “clear shots of their faces,”

Ok. Everyone has experienced a break-up BUT not on TV, seriously! Nice,… Lauren AND the camera crew set-up in Doug’s kitchen so Lauren and end IT! Ouch! And I actually thought Doug was a good guy and a good match for her. Oh well… his consolation is he’s still a part of the show.
Did you see the preview of the next episode where Brody goes to jail and Franky tells Lauren that Doug got punched! What?! Was Brody defending him…?

On a different note, Lo never leaves the viewers wondering how she feels about Audrina. I think she’s jealous of Audrina and Lauren being friends. Wow, does that girl play the snob role well! Not pretty! Ha!

I almost forgot,… is Whitney’s boss the devil? I’m afraid of her and I’m states away sitting in my own living room. Poor, sweet, hard working Whitney. I hope you can hack it with the ol’ boss! So far, so good. Fingers crossed!

Hills fans, you’ve spoke and I’ve listened. Many of you have emailed me at my tips email address and want to hear my take on Heidi and Spencer. You asked me why they fight so much on the show but then look so happy in the tabloids. Well the answer is simple, they ARE happy and they ARE acting for the show. Another statement made by Heidi on the Tyra show was she thinks of herself and Spencer as the ol’ Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. They are really trying their best to make it big and this show does it for them. That’s half the reason Lauren is pissed at Heidi, Lauren’s also mentioned Heidi lives it up for the cameras.

My thought on Spencer’s attitude toward Heidi’s sister is that he was acting. I think the whole “take time apart and Spencer lives with his sister Stephanie” was a script for the show too. Btw, Stephanie’s a total plant… Seriously, Lauren and Stephanie are BFFs now, come on!

It’s hard for me to blog about Heidi and Spencer when I think it’s fake. I actually think Spencer’s funny and I laugh at half the stuff he does or says…I think it’s because he’s funny on the MTV commercials.

OK back to the show..at one point when Heidi’s sister was visiting I thought Heidi should stop treating Spencer like a baby and tell him how it is…like “Hey it’s my sister, get over yourself.”

I think we all miss the real stuff…the real fights. Remember when Spencer bought flowers for Heidi and Audrina and tried to date them both!

I think we’ll see some real stuff soon. I can’t wait for Lauren’s date with Doug!

OK. With dynamics like Audrina and Lo as roommates, this should be good. They are complete opposites and Lauren is in the middle. You got to think Lauren has a lot in common with Audrina as far as working around talent. Audrina works with bands and Lauren works with designers. Not to mention they live in LA! And is Lo completely snobby or what?! You have to have a certain level of tolerance for all kinds when you live in LA and Lo doesn’t have it!!

Stephanie Pratt, Spencer (who you have to admit makes you laugh) AND Heidi have to be following a script. I’m convinced. I think I’ve said this before but when Heidi was on the Tyra Bank’s show she said, “At the end of the day we’re entertainers.” The whole end of Season 3 was a script.

I look forward to Lauren dating again, frankly she doesn’t have game when it comes to men. She’s a complete good girl- However, she is probably more into her career and school…which is WHY she has her own show in the first place…a REAL roll model. It looks like she’s learned from her experience with Heidi too. Who hasn’t had a roommate gone bad?! She’s really putting forth the effort with Audrina…

So, anyone else think this season is a little more scripted than the others?? It just seems weird that Stephaine Pratt is in Lauren’s computer class…AND Heidi and Stephaine just happen to run into Audrina out in a club…umm…I thought L.A. was larger than a fish bowl!

Okay, did you guys see the last couple episodes with Lauren’s bday party and then the next episode where she’s visiting Whitney at her new job…she has long hair in the last episode and short hair in the one before it…I think they edit it to think the events happened in a different order…and the girls got new jobs way before the rest of the season was filmed….

Anywho…it will be interesting when Audrina and Heidi hang out….that won’t be pretty!

Wow, that was a long break! Here’s to another season of The Hills guys…cheers! Okay…Lauren and Whitney looked cute (as always), but what happened to Heidi’s lips??!! Did you guys see those? They were plumped up BIG TIME. I think in this episode Heidi and Spencer were faking it for the cameras – MY OPINION. I also think Lauren’s dress mishap was staged – I could be wrong – but it makes for convenient DRAMA! But – all you fans know that it doesn’t really matter because we’ll all be watching each and every episode.

So, what about Lauren’s Paris guy with the REALLY tight pants? Not her type AT ALL…I think he was thrown into the show too and hoped to get a little action out of it! Conrad really wasn’t that subtle about blowing him off EVERY time he went in for a kiss, ha!

Anyway, can’t wait to see Audrina and Heidi in the next episode…the previews looked pretty good. I can do without the fake and forced story line though….like Heidi coming around asking to be friends again…we’ll see…all I can focus on are her fake lips at this point!

Heidi’s career/exposure is really taking off. I traveled to Mpls this week for work and saw Heidi’s pic on the cover of Maximum. VERY provocative! Let me know what you think of this pic. I think she looks great (I would trade her bods) and this will certainly help sell the mag…but isn’t it weird that she seems like such a good girl on The Hills and looks like such a bad girl!

So, it’s true, Teen Vogue let Lauren and Whitney go. From what I gather they weren’t happy about the girls tabloid sensation. I’ve also read they weren’t happy about how the girls are portrayed on the show. However, Teen Vogue has not addressed questions about the girls employment. If you know more about this – leave a comment…maybe Lisa Love wasn’t crazy about how SHE was portrayed on the show?? Needless to say the magazine gained a lot of exposure and sales from the girls! And I don’t care what you read those girls worked hard as interns, on their feet, folding clothes in their high heels:-)

Since the end of season three, MTV is airing “Lauren Looks Back.” which reflects on her moments of love and heartbreak. If you haven’t seen it it’s worth watching. Looking back, Lauren, Lo, Jason, Stephen, and all the other “friends/cast” seem so young! Still, even then, Lauren maintains that confidence and good girl attitude we all watch for every week!

I can’t wait for season four! Season three gave me quite a few laughs – “Justin Bobby” – priceless! Especially when you call your friends (who watch The Hills) by their name and add Bobby on the end….Jill Bobby, Jenny Bobby, Christine Bobby…like I said, priceless!

I had to make sure to write at least a little something about this episode since it’s so huge. Episode starts off leading towards a juicy confrontation when Lauren and Whitney are asked to cover and event for Teen Vogue by the boss herself Lisa Love. By the way I’m sure the producers had Lisa come in herself and hand her the invitation which I doubt would ever happen. Whatever, I’ll try to not pick at the show.

So Whitney and Lauren get to the party which is that big declare yourself event and they JUST miss the new girl and Heidi.

Flash over to the date between Justin Bobby and Audrina. All I remember is some burping.

Back to the party…
THE BIG CONFRONTATION?! nope.
Heidi comes up and they just jump right into it. Heidi starts off polite, Lauren jumped right into “If you want to apologize I’ll talk to you.” Initially I’m like, ouch bitch… what happened to courtesy? Then I remembered as they go on with the confrontation that big sex tape thing and how Spencer and Heidi have caused alot of pain in Lauren’s life. Then I take back that “ouch, bitch” comment. It was a short confrontation but good I suppose.

Over to Audrina’s little bit in the show. So she’s got her new job not just as a receptionist but helps out with artists and was at the Jimmy Kimmel show with her co-worker who wisely suggests that Audrina should not call Justin and that she cannot go out with him that night. It’ll all be okay. So things are moving up in Audrina’s “job” which I heard she doesn’t even have but once again that’s just something I heard. I’ll just believe the tv and she is excited about her work especially after she receives some flowers from Sean Kingston who she was working with at the Jimmy Kimmel show.

NOW the big confrontation.
… yet there is still more leading up to eat. I think the instant messenger conversation on tv and showing each girl typing was priceless. nowwwww at the end of the show we’ve got the good stuff.
First off, Heidi was nice enough to meet at Lauren’s apartment and even brought her flowers.

So they Heidi wants to try and work it out and Lauren makes sure that Heidi knows exactly what Spencer’s effect and role in this whole thing has been. It’s obviously not just an issue between Lauren and Heidi yet Spencer has creep’d in there and spread some stink around.

They discuss it all yet I wanted to take out some good quotes.

Heidi: “I’m not saying that Spencer is an angel”

Hahahah yeah we all knew that, and then she goes onto apologize and say she didn’t come to fight and wanted to try and put this all behind them.

Lauren shoots back with quite possibly the quote of the season.

“I want to forgive you… and I want to forget you”

ouuuuch.

Heidi responds with her own little graceful stab, saying something along the lines as
“Yeah, well your apartment looks good, have a nice life.”

And there ya have it. An episode that took a long time to stew and manifest itself into the drama filled television well all love to watch. Thanks Lauren and Heidi… and the rest of the crew. This was a keeper.

I don’t know how I missed this last week but pretty awesome interview by the bestweekever crew talking to Gavin Beasly… you know, Laurens “date.”

After reading the interview you may be a little shocked if you still thought The Hills was all “real.” So if you want to just keep watching the show and enjoying it for what it is… then don’t read this interview. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Best Week Ever: REALITY VICTIMS UNIT: Meet Gavin, My Friend Who Went On A Date With LC From The Hills

I’m going to cover the second half of this episode right now since I just finished watching it, the second half is always the best anyways.

Turns out Heidi is a working woman now and doesn’t seem to have much more time for Spencer anymore. Boo hoo. All relationships have problems especially when one person works and the other person does…. what exactly? We don’t really know. (here’s some ideas) I will say that Heidi looked hot in those ‘business’ clothes. That’s enough of that.

Crazy danny roll it is. What a coincidence that everything is so crazy. First it looks like she’s having a hard time eat that nice piece of sushi, then comes the forced awkwardness that tv is so great for. Lauren unintentionally spews that she’s had some bad dates and that the guys start out normal yet end up being really crazy. Then it looked as though the date bombed and guess who comes back into the picture? Lauren calls Brody the moment she gets home. I feel a little sorry for Gavin since he was perceived as boring. The end of Lauren and Jason was right at about… “He’s a nice guy… but no sparks.” Bummer.

So who is their sparks between? I’m sure you all saw the little smug smiles and nose laughs between Brody and Lauren. It was actually awesome when Brody asked “What movie?” and Lauren responds, “Does it really matter?” AWESOME. There’s some stuff brewing there. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

Well Brandon over at MTV’s remote control does alot better job at posting. I guess I could apologize but not this time. The Hills is great but every now and then I need breaks. So I thought I’d bring a couple posts over at MTV’s blog so you could have something to look at.

I’m going to throw this out there that this might be the most dramatic season of The Hills. Sure everything in the past with Jason was a good amount but this season it’s a nice clusterf*%k of drama teams. Everybody has their own side whether it’s Spencer/Heidi and Jason/Katja and then Team Laurn and everybody drops bombs on everybody. Jason with the engagement thing. Brody with the Lauren/Jason sextape rumors… and who knows what’s next.
