Episode one of the hills without Lauren Conrad

Well, we’re only one episode of Kristin Cavallari-centric “Hills” deep, and I already miss Lauren Conrad.
Which is odd, I know, because let’s face it — Lauren wasn’t adding a whole bunch to the show toward the end of last season, complacently sifting through clothes racks at People’s Revolution and constantly being forced into awkward situations with frenemy Heidi.
But there was something about Lauren’s calm demeanor and subtle eye rolls that endeared her to me. Perhaps the part of her life she revealed on the show wasn’t all that dramatic, but it never seemed like she was spewing outright lies.
Enter Kristin, wearing daisy dukes and very high heels while hopping out of her summer Malibu rental and into her shiny black BMW convertible.
Last week, Kristin admitted she will “pretty much do anything” the producers want her to do on the show. The first of which seems to be feigning romantic interest in resident bad boy Justin Bobby.
There is just no way I can believe that Kristin actually finds JB attractive. Reality check — she has dated the chiseled Brody Jenner and clean-cut “Final Destination” star Nick Zano. They don’t exactly have the snarly beard, suspenders and combat boot look going on.
“He’s so not your type!” I pressed when we met last week at Magnolia restaurant in Hollywood.
“He is a good-looking guy,” she insisted. “No, he’s not someone I typically would go after, but I do have to say after getting to know him a little bit on the show, he’s a good guy.”
Okay. But even if Kristin hypothetically were into JB, her constant Audrina name-dropping made the entire setup feel all too fake.
“How do you think Audrina’s going to feel about us going on a date?” she asked coyly when Justin offered to take her on the back of his motorcycle.
“I think Audrina is still in love with you,” she later said nonchalantly over dinner with Justin at STK. (Honestly, producers? Are we meant to believe a trendy Hollywood steakhouse is JB’s number one choice for a dinner date?)
Justin proceeds to tell Kristin that Audrina was never his girlfriend and that the pair were never exclusive. Is that really supposed to be a huge revelation? Audrina spent an entire season pleading with Justin to make things official. When he refused to put a label on things, she kept seeing him and tried to convince herself and her friends she was OK dating without labels — which she clearly never was.
And in the season opener, at least, it really appears that she’s still in love with Justin.
When Stephanie abruptly dropped the bomb that Kristin and Justin may have gone home together, Audrina’s face instantly dropped and her eyes welled up. Yikes.
Plus, “the stage five clinger,” as bartender Stacie deemed her, prematurely flipped out on Kristin within a couple of minutes of her arrival at the pool party at the London West Hollywood Hotel. I mean, Justin was the one who approached Kristin, and the two had barely exchanged a couple of faux-flirty words before Audrina and sidekick-to-everyone Stephanie got up in Kristin’s face.
“I’m sorry I walked up here and you guys came at me like piranhas,” Kristin said.
“You need to respect Audrina, bottom line,” Stephanie shouted back at her. No wonder she’s ready to exit the show at the end of this season — all of her story lines involve being obsessed with her friends lives instead of her own!
Meanwhile, Spencer and Heidi’s house-hunting pursuits somehow ended up seeming like the most realistic events of the evening. First the pair headed to a suburban house in Brentwood. Spencer wore an interesting get-up, composed of a cowboy hat and boots and a flannel shirt — Poppa Montag’s style influence on his new son-in-law must have been far-reaching.
Despite Heidi’s insistence upon a cozy home with a room for a nursery, Spencer settles upon a modern, glass-filled house perched below the Hollywood sign. I’ll take it that means the children discussion is on hold until that visit to Kitson Baby later in the season.

BRING LAUREN BACK!!!! What are we watching – rich kids hanging out – no jobs, no education, no class, nothing!!!! Clearly not reality and they are getting paid 6 figures an epsiode so they don’t really need to work. I am not watching this anymore….but I will watch the City to see where that goes.

These people won the lottery. There is nothing special about any of them but they get paid tons of money to create fake drama. I feel like an utter loser for watching these pathetic celebrities.

Glad to have The Hills back, even if this is the show’s last hurrah. Lauren was probably smart to jump ship early…we’ll see what happens with the rest of the cast. No other show helps me feel better about myself than watching this drama unfold haha. Plus, last night they had some great music in the episode, too – I was way happy that they played “Warning” by Great Northern and “Sabotage” by Lydia Paek. Lauren is the founding father or should I say mother of this kind of reality tv but Kristen brings a fresh new kind of energy to the show plus she’s hella hot

The end of this show is near. No one is going to care about these losers much longer.
I highly doubt there will be another season after this one.

The Hills seems so much more fake now. Kristin is too prett for Justin bobby she just wants to entertain people, which is the most unentertaining thing of all. Lauren Conrad was more real and comfortable; She made viewers feel like they were part of a REAL life, not of a fake story line full of immature drama and playing with people’s past love life. But this will be interesting, I am in a relationship and the ex-girlfriend is OBSESSED with my boyfriend, kristin sets good example.

I really liked the new episode! I don’t know how real it is or has ever been but it sure was entertaining. I don’t think you can really compare to LC because they’re completely different.

well for one thing i agree with some of you that Lauren made it fun! and went to classes and we actually watched her work! and then have fun! not just go around and start little drama, and in fact most of the drama came to her and she had to deal with that and go to work AND school! and we saw that. Kristin just shows up like a little a little rich princess and starts drama that producers probably had to make up. the show really was better with Lauren and i don’t blame a single person on that show that is ready to pull the curtain on this. When we first saw the hills we actually rooted for Lauren to succeed and get the internship and proceed from there and we couldn’t wait to see where all this would lead her but now honestly its just to see what kind of drama is going to unfold now and who’s going to get hit! Lauren made a big mistake leaving the show but she did whats best for her and the fact that Kristin thinks shes going to be the new star of the show well news flash, the hills is going to fade away with her!

I think that it’s great that the hills has new romance! I was sick and tired of the fights between Spencer and his woman and Audrina and her man! Finally some gossip I can chew on!

The fact that Lauren is gone shows just how fake this show is. Like how does Kristen just RANDOMLY show up out of nowhere and create all this drama? I have been following this since Laguna Beach and I can say that I’m not even interested anymore. This was Laurens spin off so how and why is the show going on without her? The show is too fake for me now. Also why the h*** is Stacey the bartender hanging out with the cast now? Wasn’t she supposedly some random bar chick that Spencer was hitting on? This show is not interesting anymore and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the last season. Lastly, Spencer and Heidi please don’t leave ANY evidence of ypu guys ever being alive by creating offspring. Spare the Earth that burden.

The worst thing that ever happened to this show was LC leaving and Kristen showing up for all the crap that kristen talked about LC goes to show she is just envious of LC. First Laguna Beach and next the hills find your own job.
And another thing kristen you talk all that about how you dont owe Audrina nothing but dont you think your contradicting yourself I remember the shoe being on the other foot when Steven was messing with you and LC and you were pissed.
The magic word is class and the show lossed it when kristin showed up thank god it is over but bring LC back for another show.

I really lost intrest in the hills with out LC i really think that was a bad business move I dont even want to watch it we all know Kristin is a party girl on drugs who cannot handle the 100,000 an episode she mean aggitated an rude just like an addict …………….. An as far as Heidi shes lost an I feel sorry for her just not the cosmetic stuff but her mind who se is an how she allowa spwcer to treat her sister an talk an be disrespectul to holly & stephanie an she just sits there looking dumb as hell Im very disguted with her she needs to be cutt ASAP along with her husband who is lost as well Im sick of them so I will not b tunning in to season 6 any further but whitney port an LC are doing there thing CONGRATS does spencer even work or do anything else !!!! Stephanie take it easy remeber baby steps bump spencer hes a plastic as those credit cards he uses since he doesnt have a job cut him out your life he sucks any way …………………………. I really wish they would bring LC back, she is amazing and so true! the others are just fakes and boring its all about men these days and sharing the same men!!! Kristin is a stuck up cow that just thrives on trouble and rows! very 2 faced and is most definatly on drugs! i cannot stand her! and Lo has really dissapointed me in the last few episodes i have seen because supposingly being LC’s best friend she seems to spend alot of time with Kristin! urgh! same as the other girls! GET KRISTIN OUT AND BRING LC BACK!!! No really Lc your amazing!!!!!

Tuned in today to see the first episode without LC. disappointed to say the least. What a nasty piece of work Kristin is. So classy, offering to have a slap down with Stephanie and Audrina. She and Justin Bobby are perfect for each other. I never understood what Audrina wanted with him in the first place. these girls could do so much better than the same four or five guys that they pass around. Run Lauren, run fast!!!!

Wahhh q__q I only could watch “The Hills” (in my language) this year xD
And I was so shocked watching Lauren went away in this car after the marriage… I think the translation lost, that she was leaving, and so… OMG I wonder why Kristen came q__q With her “The Hills” lost its glamour because I like it because of the fashion theme and Lauren and her drama ;]
With Kristin only nasty words are the main issue… That’s no good thing ><"
I wish there will be a 7th season with Lauren ?
